안녕하세요, (사)미래희망기구입니다.
저희 기관은 지난 수년간 유엔 출판부(UN Publications)에서 발간한 공식 도서를 한국어로 번역하며, 세계시민의식과 지속가능발전목표(SDGs)에 쉽게 다가갈 수 있도록 공익 목적의 도서 발간을 진행해 왔습니다.
이번에는 유엔 본부의 공식 허가 아래 시각장애 아동·청소년의 교육 접근성을 확대하기 위한 SDGs 오디오북 제작 프로젝트로 확장하였습니다.
왜 오디오북인가?
이번 프로젝트는 SDG 4(양질의 교육)와 SDG 10(불평등 감소)을 실현하기 위한 중요한 실천이자, 모든 아동이 정보에 동등하게 접근할 수 있는 사회를 만드는 데 기여하는 포용적 교육 프로젝트입니다. 특히 《어린이를 위한 아동 권리 이야기(A Child’s Right to Rights)》는 유엔 본부에서 직접 제작한 공식 도서로, 아동권리협약에 관한 내용을 다루고 있습니다. 아동권리협약은 모든 아동이 존중받아야 할 고유한 권리를 가지고 있으며 그 권리를 이해하고 학습할 기회를 보장받아야 한다고 강조합니다. 그러나 시각장애 아동의 경우, 교육 자료 접근에 제한이 있어 동일한 학습 경험을 누리기 어려운 현실에 맞닦뜨립니다. 이번 오디오북을 통해 이러한 격차를 줄이고, 시각장애 아동이 자신의 권리를 스스로 이해하고 실천할 수 있는 환경을 마련하고자 합니다.
장애·비장애 청소년이 함께 만든 ‘협력의 가치’
이번 오디오북은 단순히 텍스트를 음성으로 녹음하는 행위를 넘어 청소년들이 직접 참여해 목소리를 기부하고, 아동의 권리와 책임에 대해 함께 학습하는 청소년 주도형(Youth-led) 프로젝트의 결과물입니다. 장애와 비장애의 구분을 넘어 서로의 교육 접근성을 확장하고, 함께 SDGs를 실천하고자 하는 청소년들의 자발적 참여가 핵심 요소입니다.
(사)미래희망기구는 앞으로도 누구도 배움에서 뒤처지지 않는 사회를 위해, 그리고 모든 아동이 자신의 권리를 이해하고 세계시민으로 성장해 나갈 수 있도록 포용적 교육 환경을 만들어 나가겠습니다. 이 프로젝트에 참여한 모든 청소년들에게 진심으로 감사드립니다.

For the past several years, we have translated and utilized official publications of UN Publications to support global citizenship education for students in Korea. This year, we are pleased to announce the completion of the 'Voices of Global Citizenship: SDGs Audiobooks for All' project for blind and visually impaired children,produced under official authorization from the United Nations Headquarters.
The audiobook was created to advance SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, ensuring that all children—regardless of disability—can access essential knowledge about global issues, human rights, and the SDGs. “A Child’s Right to Rights” is an official UN publication, originally published by UN Publications, and contains key messages in accessing meaningful child rights education on an equal basis with others. This audiobook aims to close that gap by offering an accessible, inclusive learning tool that empowers children to understand, claim, and practice their rights.
This audiobook is more than a recording—it is a collaborative project created with the active participation of Korean youth. Students took part in narration, recording, and production, making this a powerful example of youth engagement in global citizenship and inclusion. Their participation demonstrates solidarity, responsibility, and the belief that education and rights must be accessible to everyone.
Hope to the Future Association remains committed to promoting inclusive, equitable learning opportunities for all children and supporting the SDGs through education and youth engagement.
